Directions
The best way to get here from J40 of the M6 is to take the A66 west. Turn left at the Rheged roundabout on the A592, after 4 miles, passing Dalemain House on your right you arrive at the lakeshore junction. Turn left here following the road past the Steamers’ Pier, across the new Pooley Bridge and you will find us on your left just over the bridge. Coming from the east on the A66 turn left at the Kemplay roundabout onto the A6 towards Shap. At the next roundabout turn right onto the B5320 and take this road through Tirril to Pooley Bridge. There is a car park just accross the road from the Tearoom, and free parking in the village square if you can find a place. In Summer there is additional parking provided by local farmers.
If you are coming from the South Lakes, from Windermere take the A592 to Kirkstone Pass, and from Ambleside take ‘The Struggle’ which ends at the top of Kirkstone pass, then proceed through Patterdale
and Glenridding at the head of Ullswater keeping on the A592 which follows the Lakeshore along one of Britain’s most scenic drives. As above, follow the road past the Steamers’ Pier, across the new Pooley Bridge and you will find us on your left just over the bridge.
